Which Carpet Quality?

Twisted carpets are comprised of two or more fibres twisted together. They are generally short-pile and hardwearing, meaning that it doesn’t fluff or leave footprints. These carpets are perfect for the rooms you most use, such as hallways, stairs and main living rooms.

Looped Carpets are created through the looping of twisted fibres, which are left uncut. They combine definition and interesting textures, creating a contemporary appearance. Very popular for hallways but are not recommended for households with pets, as claws can easily catch in the loops.

Saxony carpets are a deep pile that is straight cut and feels soft and sumptuous below your feet. As they look luxurious, Saxony carpets are popular for both bedrooms and lounges.

Is Underlay Essential?

The best rule is to buy the best quality underlay that you can afford. A good underlay will be able to be reused the next time you change your carpet because they are so durable. They also improve the look, feel and insulation of your carpet. Sponge rubber underlay is the best soft and luxurious option, but if you are looking for an environmentally friendly alternative, then recycled crumb rubber and polyurethane underlay are the best choices.
